Slowing Down & Breathing

Ever notice how quickly life can cruise by? Maybe it’s because of that old saying “time flies when you’re having fun.” Or, maybe it’s because that’s what happens when you grow older. I’m sure that I’m not the only person on planet earth who experiences this. I am here today so that we can come to some conclusions on how we can invite a slowing down process into our lives.

When I am having a great time, I notice that the moment seems to speed up. During these moments of pure stoke and unexplainable joy, life is at its all-time BEST, and then BAM – the moment leaves so quickly! What happens if we find ways to soak in these moments a bit longer? For instance, when I take a deep breath during times like these, it seems like the clock stops, cars slow down, and it’s only me and my friends who are experiencing that moment. Our breath can be a great grounding tool, drawing us fully into the present moment and allowing us to think of nothing else. This is our state of flow, or a state of meditation if you will. This is such a strong and ground-breaking tool in my life and I hope it can be for you too. For so long, I found myself holding on to those “good” times and pushing away the “bad.” If this were the case today, I would only be experiencing half of what life has to offer. I believe that this life is meant to be taken in fully – the good, the bad, and the in-between. The present moment is when time tends to be at its best – with no stress over the future and no shame over our past. This is pure goodness at its rawest form, being with each and every moment and emotion. I leave you with one question. How do you want to soak in your human experience here on earth? Stressed and worried, or joyful and excited? The choice is yours and you are the creator. Take a step back and breath. Be with it all.
