Tricare & Mental Health: Covered Substance Abuse Services for Alaskan Military
If someone needs Substance Abuse treatment, Tricare will very likely cover most if not all of the treatment costs at Tree House Recovery. We have helped many members of the Armed Services recover from addiction, and the fastest way to see if we can help you is to call us and get your benefits verified.
Tricare Covered Rehab Services:
- Detox: Medical supervision and 24-hour care during the acute phase of withdrawal
- Inpatient: Treatment for substance abuse disorders that requires 24-hour medical care. Often because of co-existing psychiatric conditions.
- Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Extensive non-medical care for people with substance abuse
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Part-time non-medical care for substance abuse treatment.
- Outpatient (OP): Evening psychotherapy sessions for treating mild substance abuse disorders.
Tricare Out of Network Treatment Coverage:
Althought active duty service members usually get the maximum coverage at in-network military hospitals or clinics, that doesn’t mean out-of-network civilian care is not covered.
For instance, Alaska has a very large military presence which could arguably decrease the number of beds available at military hospitals. If the level of care you need to treat your substance abuse disorder isn’t available, then Tricare may provide coverage for out-of-network facilities. There are several instances where your Tricare plan may cover out-of-network care. To see coverage at Tree House, call us anytime.
Treatment At Tree House Recovery
At Tree House Recovery we offer PHP, IOP, and outpatient services that treat the causes and effects of addiction to create the most long-lasting recovery possible. We don’t teach sobriety, we provide a lifestyle and tools meant to make sobriety second nature — not something you struggle to maintain.
Fitness Therapy: This isn’t standing around the gym. Fitness therapy is 90 min 5 days a week and draws on evidence-based methods to reduce cravings and help your brain heal from addiction.
ABI Therapy: Physical feats like Navy seal training exercises you cannot do without your teammates at Tree House. ABI is about becoming part of a sober unit that you will rely on during and after treatment.
EP Yoga Therapy: Thinking about the future or past makes us sad or anxious, but the same is hardly true for the present. EP is about anchoring to the present, reducing depression, dealing with anxiety, and learning to be comfortable alone with your thoughts.
Recovery in Action: RIA is the embodiment of physical triumph in recovery. Mud runs, half or full marathons, spartan races, and other physical feats to redefine what you thought was possible.
Addiction Education: Part of your addiction’s power is all that you don’t know about it. So we educate you about addiction, the cause of cravings, relapse, and most importantly — what you can do to help yourself.
1-on-1 Therapy: Trained counselors use evidence-based therapies to provide you with individualized tools to help you stay sober, develop a healthy perspective on sobriety, and work through any future barriers to your recovery.
Writing Therapy: This isn’t a classroom setting. Writing therapy is about working with a counselor 1-on-1 to find and come to terms with past events that fed your addiction.
Addictions Tricare Can Help Treat:
Tricare may provide coverage for addictions to substances like:
- Opioids (heroin, fentanyl, pain pills)
- Alcohol
- Cocaine
- Methamphetamines
- Crack
- Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium)
- Maintenance Drugs (Suboxone and Methadone)
- Marijuana
The amount of treatment expenses covered by Tricare can depend on the drug being abused. From an insurance standpoint, some substances need long-term intensive care for a successful recovery. Generally, Tricare will cover higher levels of care for alcohol, benzodiazepines, and maintenance drugs like Suboxone. But every policy and case is different. To find out what your Tricare policy will cover, call us.
