About Beacon Health Options Insurance:

Beacon Health Options is the product of the 2014 merger between ValueOptions and Beacon Health Strategies. Unlike other insurance providers, Beacon Health Option plans only offer coverage for treating behavioral health issues like depression, PTSD, Substance Abuse Disorder, etc. With over 50 million clients including 5.4 million military personnel, 140 employers, 43 Fortune-500 companies, and provider networks spanning half the country — they are the largest most successful privately held company of its kind in the US. That’s why many other insurance providers make deals with Beacon Health options to provide their members access to high-quality mental health and substance abuse treatments.

Rehab Coverage with Beacon Health Options:

Most of Beacon’s plans provide some coverage for treating addiction. Because the company is focused only on treating behavioral health, some of Beacon’s policies provide coverage exclusively for rehab. But the amount of coverage you receive depends on what plan you have, what level of care you need, and whether your desired treatment center is in Beacon’s network or not.

It’s also important to understand that since so many other insurance providers partner with Beacon, your coverage might also be affected by that other provider. That’s why the easiest way to determine your coverage is to call 503-850-2474 and let us verify your benefits.

Addictions that Beacon May Cover:

  • Heroin or Fentanyl Addiction
  • Benzodiazepine Addiction
  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Cocaine Addiction
  • Addiction to Prescription Pain Pills

A Better Way To Treat Addiction:

At Tree House Recovery, we want you to get healthy so that you can get on with your life. This means optimizing your whole self — physically, mentally, and socially.

Physical Strength: Get Strong. Regular exercise can improve mood and decrease stress or cravings. You’ll learn how physical movement can help grow the brain and repair the damage of addiction.

Mental Strength: Build a Better Perspective. Our evidence-based practices give you tools to help control your thoughts and emotions and deal with things that trigger your addiction.

Social Fitness: Bond. Nobody recovers alone. Isolation is one of the greatest threats to sobriety. Part of our program asks you to rely on your team to perform amazing physical feats. The bonds born out of this will last long after treatment.

Insurance Terms To Know:

TYPES OF PROVIDERS:

In-Network Provider: A healthcare professional who Beacon has contracted with. If you have met your deductible, your costs will be reduced.

Out-of-Network Provider: A mental healthcare professional who does not have a contract with Beacon. However, depending on your policy, you may still have some coverage.

YOUR COSTS:

Monthly Premium: The amount of money it costs each month to keep your policy with Beacon. The amount you pay in premiums differs depending on the policy.

Deductible: The amount of money you must pay for your healthcare before your HMO or PPO policy helps you save money.

TYPES OF PLANS:

PPO (Preferred Provider Organization): Unlike HMO’s, PPO policies may provide coverage if you choose a provider outside of the Beacon network. Once you have paid a certain amount of your own treatment expenses, Beacon will split the remaining cost with you.

HMO (Health Maintenance Organization): HMOs work by reducing your total cost of treatment if you go to a provider inside the Beacon network. Like PPO’s you may need to pay for some treatment expenses before your policy reduces your costs.

HOW YOU SAVE:

Co-Pay: A fixed amount of money you pay for treatment after meeting the deductible.

Co-Insurance: The fixed percentage of your treatment costs you must pay after Beacon contributes.

Cost of Rehab with Anthem HealthSCOPE

Your treatment costs may be reduced thanks to Anthem HealthSCOPE. Your insurance policy can cover some or all of your rehab expenses — leaving you with a smaller remaining payment.

Will Beacon Cover Out Of Network Rehab Costs:

In most cases, Beacon Health Options will require treatment centers to be in their network. But some Beacon plans provide coverage for out of network costs. If Tree House Recovery isn’t in your Beacon network, you still have options to help pay for your treatment. Your policy may still help cover some costs, we can help you file for partial reimbursement, or set up a payment plan. For too many people, rehab’s possible cost is a reason for them not to get treatment. But you always have options. We can set up reasonable payment plans to help you manage costs or financing options from private lenders. The long term cost of addiction will always outweigh the cost of rehab.

Types of Care Beacon Health Options Can Cover:

As the name suggests, levels of care refer to the amount (or level) of treatment you receive. As you complete higher levels of care, you'll move into lower ones, which require less time and are less expensive. More severe cases of substance abuse disorder need higher levels of care to be effective.

Detox: Detox is the highest level of care. It provides 24-hour care and supervision from medical professionals who can prescribe medications to keep you comfortable during withdrawals.

Inpatient: Inpatient is the second-highest level of care and is usually reserved for people with complications during detox. To ensure your safety, you live in a medical facility day and night while also beginning your rehab. Generally, treatment at the inpatient level means group and individual talk therapy.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): PHP can be a step down from inpatient or detox. During PHP, treatment focuses on rebuilding your life and teaching you how to live an empowered sober life. This takes time, which is why our PHP program at Tree House is 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 90 days.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): IOP is the second-lowest level of care. It can be a starting point for mild substance abuse disorder, but at Tree House, it's a step down from PHP with 3-5 hours of treatment per day for 5 days a week. Our IOP builds on PHP with re-integration skills like resume building, interview skills, leadership training, social workshops, and family therapy.

Outpatient: Outpatient or Aftercare is the lowest care level with only 3 hours of treatment per week. It's usually reserved for those who've recently graduated and want to check-in after resuming their lives. Our aftercare is 3 one-hour evening sessions a week.
