Robert “Rob” Strain is a Certified Recovery Mentor , Drug and Alcohol Counselor in training and our Sober Housing Director at Tree House Recovery PDX here in Portland, OR. Drawing from over five years of personal sobriety and his own journey as a graduate of Tree House Recovery, Rob meets with clients daily to talk through the challenges of recovery, offering relatable guidance rooted in his lived experience.
Finding fulfillment in helping others realize their potential, Rob guides clients to build community inside and outside treatment. His approach is grounded in the idea that mentorship is about authentic connection and relating to others’ struggles with honesty and empathy.

Invited to join the Tree House Recovery PDX team after his graduation, Rob remains close to the program that transformed his life. He is passionate about giving back and believes in the unique approach of Tree House Recovery, which worked for him when others did not. For Rob, the most rewarding part of his work is witnessing those pivotal moments when clients discover new solutions and begin to steer their lives in a healthier direction.
