Tobias Shea is a Mental Health Counseling Associate. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2025 with a Master’s in Counseling, including a specialization in Addiction Counseling. He also holds a B.A. in Psychology from Portland State University and has worked with individual clients and addiction education groups since 2024. 

Tobias’s practice focuses on trauma-informed care, client-centered and strengths-based approaches, with much of his work exploring the connections between trauma and addiction. He advocates for clients utilizing their skills, tools, and knowledge to successfully integrate their past trauma, transform their lives, and pursue post-traumatic growth.

As an Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, Tobias has a special affinity for veterans in crisis. He has worked as a peer counselor and case manager for traumatically injured veterans and veterans experiencing homelessness in the greater Metro area. Tobias has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, and welcomes the opportunity to work with clients of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders. He is a strong advocate for basic human rights

Transformation and personal growth are key focus points when working with clients, and he utilizes a trauma-informed approach that aims to support clients in creating “brave spaces” in their lives that contribute positively to their own healing. Currently, he is working to develop a therapeutic approach that incorporates Jiu-Jitsu as a tool to facilitate healing and recovery for those working to heal from their traumatic past and recover from addiction.
