Here are some more of our favorite fall foliage adventures in Oregon.
Silver Falls State Park
Another Oregonian favorite is Silver Falls State Park, which has a lot to brag about when it comes to fall foliage and waterfalls. One of the park’s most famous and popular hikes is the Trail of Ten Falls which takes you to just that- ten different waterfalls. As you journey through the forest, you’ll be among the colors of the season, painting a different picture than what’s available the rest of the year.
Ashland And Lithia
If you’re interested in getting as far out of town as possible, pit stop through the Corvallis on your way down to Ashland, a historic wonder of Oregon. You can drink the natural water from the taps into Lithia springs or take a soak in the Lithia hot springs after a long day journeying through Lithia Park. Over ninety-acres are available for you to explore under a canopy of colorful leaves and trees. Enjoy the hippie-art-town vibes in downtown Ashland at night.
Corvallis
Take another pit stop in Corvallis on your way back from Ashland. Home of Oregon State University, Corvallis has more to offer than a college campus. What the campus does offer is a beautiful walk of brick buildings, historic landmarks, student and professor eatery favorites, and an abundance of autumnal foliage.
Willamette Valley Wine District
Driving through the wine country might not be the first suggestion considered for men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The wineries aren’t the point, per say. After the fall harvest has been picked off the vines, vineyards change color over night from bright green to burning orange. A drive through the wine valley offers not only the dense fall foliage in the forests, but the unique sights of fall amongst the vines. One of the better parts about a wine district? Local farm fresh food designed for the most sophisticated of palettes. Just about any eatery in downtown Dundee, McMinnville, Chehalem, or other wine district hotspots will bring you to a new level of food appreciation.
